Folk Herbalism and Song Magic Rituals for Global Healing, Empowerment, and Love.

PlantSong is a monthly ritual workshop series created by Saoirse. It combines Folk Herbalism and the medicine of Song. Saoirse has a different co-facilitator each month. The idea behind this is to support the many incredible and dynamic teachers, whether they are very experienced or sometimes beginners. During PlantSong Ritual Workshops we do things like singing to plants, learning spiritual clearing practices with plants, learning how to make herbal medicines, song sharing, dancing, wildcrafting, learning mindful plant harvesting methods, candle making, and so much more.

Wildcrafting is the art of homesteading and making essential art, this includes basket weaving, tincture making, candle arts, food ferments, herbal infused body oils, vinegars, and more. Along with jewelry making, Saoirse has been a wild crafter for the last eight years at least. As she has also studied and facilitated Women’s Healing Ritual for the last nine years, she is finding that these two modalities can go together in a harmonious workshop and ritual setting. As we reclaim both the beauty and bounty of the feminine arts of tending to the hearth and home, we can combine ecofeminism with creativity. Giving proper value to the essential crafts of basket weaving, candle making, and healing food preparation can be an empowering and also nourishing, playful process. Saoirse makes and sells her wildcrafting but has also been teaching the art or ritual candle making and is beginning to share these other wildcraft skills as a part of ritual work and feminine reclamation.

During her mentorship with Willow Arleana, Saoirse learned Goddess ritual traditions from many different cultures. As well as meditation techniques and presencing practices to bring awareness to emotional turbulence. These practices blend well with shamanic womb and rewilding work. Willow taught Saoirse how to lead women’s rituals and create a safe and grounded container for women to feel supported.
Saoirse assisted Ixeeya Beacher, a women’s shamanic dance and ritual healer, for two years. In this apprenticeship Saoirse learned more about facilitating women’s healing ritual, sacred and ancient dance practices, and women’s self care. She carries little gems of this ancient wisdom into the circles she leads. These teachings are meant to be shared so that we may all grow and heal, so that we may come back into deep relationship with our wombs as women, and so that we may relate with the earth in a deeply authentic way.

Saoirse hosted The Goddess Grove at ARISE for 4 years. This is a women’s only camping and temple space where she and her co-creatress, Alexandra Tilottama Grajeda, facilitated women’s healing ritual work and created a safe container for women to connect with sisterhood, safety, and nourishment. The responses and beauty that came from this space and experience have been immeasurable. During this festival she was also responsible for tending the sacred fire and assisting with the coordination of The Red Tent.
